The town that smiles back

🌿 Yesterday was such a great day. I had just picked up my freshly printed flyers for Helping Hands from the Heart from Patricia, the lovely lady from the printing shop. With a stack in hand and hope in my heart, I set out to walk through Chase, my new forever home, to post them around town.

What I didn’t expect was the kindness that met me at every turn. From the busy, but still kind, woman at the Pharmacy who, with a smile, offered me a prime spot on the window, to the lady at the Library who thanked me for offering my special service, and even the cheerful, helpful lady at the Legion who made me feel so welcome.  I felt like I was walking through a living love letter. People didn’t just accept my flyers—they welcomed my story. They listened. They thanked me. One gentleman even said, “We need more of this.”

I came home with fewer flyers, yes—but with a heart full to the brim. This town, this moment, reminded me why I started this journey. Not just to offer help, but to connect. To remind people they’re not alone. To be part of something gentle and good. So here’s to Chase. To kindness. And to the quiet magic of showing up with your heart open.

I’ve opened my heart here, and now I invite you to do the same. I’d love to hear your experience—this space is meant for kindred connection.

Let’s talk about it. You never know who might be quietly waiting to feel less alone.

Until next time,

Darlene
