Not exactly what I had planned......

🌿 The thing is, does anyone ever choose to have to plan for surgery? Probably not too often, but most times it is one of those things that even though you might not necessarily look forward to having done, you sure do enjoy knowing it is done.

This was me when I developed a "crease on my Retina" quite some time ago. Suddenly I found myself on a waiting list for what they call a Vitrectomy. Of course there was the waiting period that felt like forever but finally the wait was over.

The surgery itself was not such a big deal, however the following days were not exactly pleasant. Just ask my sisters! I am so blessed to have 2 amazing sisters who between the 2 of them looked after me before, during and after the surgery! No mean feat of itself let me tell you! I am not exactly a very patient patient (no pun intended) well maybe just a little and I know that I pushed their patience as well! In all actuality, even though it was not all fun and games we did manage to fit a few good laughs in the following days after surgery! CHEERS to my amazing sisters! I love and appreciate you both! I'm sure the really good laughs are still to come! Having sisters to support me through the good as well as the rough times means so much!

Retina Procedure: What to Know:

A retinal crease—also known as a macular pucker—can form when a thin layer of scar tissue gently settles on the retina’s surface, causing it to wrinkle. This may lead to blurry or wavy central vision, especially when looking at straight lines. It’s often a natural part of aging or changes in the gel-like vitreous inside the eye.
In mild cases, no treatment may be needed. But if vision becomes significantly affected, a procedure called a vitrectomy may be offered. During this, the scar tissue is gently removed to help restore clearer sight.

How about you? Who is your support? Have you ever been overwhelmed with gratitude by what someone did for you?

I welcome your words, your thoughts, and your experiences. Who knows - our words could be exactly what someone else needs to hear right now.

Until next time,

Darlene
