Grateful for Gratitudes
🙏 Gratitude is something I’ve learned to express. For much of my life, I don’t think I paid much attention to it—or at least I never realized the impact that expressing gratitude could have. I can say, though, that things have changed!
What about you—do you automatically express gratitude, or are you still discovering the benefits of being grateful?
In my experience, gratitude can change my mood almost instantly. On days when I feel lost or even broken, I’ve learned to pause and notice my feelings. If I stop and either say aloud—or better yet, write down—just three things I’m grateful for in that moment, something shifts. My sadness begins to soften, and my focus moves in a whole new direction.
Suddenly, instead of dwelling on doom and gloom, I’m looking at the blessings right in front of me.
If you’ve never tried this, I urge you to give it a chance. Even jotting down a few small gratitudes can redirect your heart and mind. And here’s the truth: there are times when I don’t even want to try. When I’m in that frame of mind, gratitude feels far away.
But I’ve found those are the moments when it’s especially important to dig deep and uncover even the smallest sparks of thankfulness. That’s when gratitude becomes most powerful.
I’m so grateful I have so much to be grateful for. So here goes.
I am grateful for my new precious little granddaughter, who recently turned 6 months old!
I am grateful we are at the end of November and still have no snow to deal with!
I am grateful for never having to wear panty hose again!! (See embarrassing or what post for details)
Your turn.
Let’s have some fun! What are 3 things you are grateful for?
Until next time,
Darlene
